autumn light

On the last warm day of autumn, I walked from West to East Campus and back again with my camera. Even though it's almost November, it was hot enough in the late afternoon to wear bare shoulders and legs. The light was magic and golden through the leaves and I still can't believe I live here now.

fall break

This fall break, I took a 5-hour bus ride to Washington D.C. with my lovely boyfriend. We stayed at his home in scenic Dayton, MD and took it easy for the first day. These photos start on the second day of our trip, when we drove back out to DC for the day and museum-hopped on the National Mall.

Civets (their second appearance in my blog!) in the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.

Hirshhorn Museum

Air and Space Museum

From back when Pluto was still a planet.

On the steps of the National Gallery of Art, Washington Monument back in the distance.

People-watching in the American art exhibit

Brian over the pathway between the West and East Buildings of the National Gallery of Art

Wouldn't be a trip to DC without stopping by the Capitol

Adorable shops in Georgetown

Third day of the trip- a short rainy day in Baltimore. We stayed by the harbour and visited the National Aquarium.

Seriously obsessed with sea nettles

And jellies in general

Road back to Dayton and a delicious home-cooked dinner.

The last morning- Brian's dad driving us back to Union Station to catch our bus back to Duke. Taken by Brian.

Just in time for fall
